--- 8/16/09--- Several club members suggested to me Saturday that we publish some of our better local pictures and videos on our website - to better convey the true nature of our sport. While we cannot post all those submitted, I'm thinking that something along these lines may be a good idea. Still images present few issues, but videos, due to their very large file sizes, pose a risk of incurring excessive bandwidth "penalty" fees from the web hosting provider. So - we will need to keep them short, and saved in a compressed format to minimize this risk. Then we would need to see how it goes, and possibly accept the idea of paying overage fees. I need to look at what file format is best ... OR folks can upload videos to Utube and I can publish a link with who, when, what ,where, etc - we would not be "serving" it that way, so no busting our bandwidth allotment ... If you like this idea, or have suggestions, let me know. You might start collecting your best ones. Email: Chris Scott ---------------------------------------------
I last year posted some " Introductory IPSC Pistol" pages to serve as a resource to new shooters. Response has been very favorable - I hope to expand on these pages, and if you have anything to add, please let me know. In general, please send me feedback on website content. I'm certain there are typos, errors, misspellings, maybe dead links - and I want to correct them. If you want to send stuff for website publication, you can help me a lot by reading the submission preferences below. |

Submission PreferencesI can cut-and-paste from your email, or accept files and pictures attached to email. Microsoft Word documents are good. UPPER CASE letters in filenames are seen as being completely different from lower case, and mixing the two can confuse things, so the preference is all lower-case filenames. Spaces in filenames can cause problems too, so they're best avoided. If you see filenames with underscores like "stage_3.pdf", the underscores are where the spaces were. If you send stuff monthly, keeping the same naming conventions will make them faster to get published on the website. If this stuff reads like greek to you, not to worry, just send it to me and I'll figure it out. Thanks, |
